Do you have any old yearbooks from your school days?

I have mine for grades 7 through 12. It used to be fun poking through them... but now it's more sad than fun.
That's the reaction I had with the one from early elementary school- thinking how many of the students are now deceased, and how many others had their lives forever changed because of personal tragedies.

I had less knowledge of the students from my high school (graduated from), because after graduation I lost track of most of them.

Odd story about my senior yearbook. It was the tradition for the yearbook staff to have a funny picture of them doing something kooky on the last page of the book. In my senior book, we're sitting around a Ouija board with the caption (I'd have to dig the book out to get the exact text) of something like "The Yearbook Staff uses only the most modern techniques to assure you the best yearbook ever!" and one of the staff has a giant hypodermic needle and is pretending to give someone a shot.

There was a local organization called The League of Decency and they put out a quarterly newsletter bemoaning the state of morality in the area. The world was coming to an end. We were all doomed. Sodom and Gomorrah had nothing on the current state of the world. Etc, etc.

About a year after I graduated, somebody sent me a copy of the current newsletter and lo and behold, there was that picture. Much pearl-clutching and decrying about the fall of society when highschool.students.did.something.like.THAT! Drugs and dabbling in the supernatural and oh.my.gawd what is the world coming to??!!??

It was really one of my proudest moments. I've always wanted to be a "bad girl" and for a brief amount of time, I was....LOL

I'm the one on the upper right... with the hair and the nose.

I still have my high school yearbook from 1964. I started indicating with a D those who have passed away. We had 703 people in our graduating class and I think at least 10% are gone now. I also indicated which of our classmates achieved the goals that were shown under their names, which I found out from newspaper articles and other updates. For instance, one girl wanted to be a stewardess, a boy wanted to become a lawyer, etc.

Went to a small school (45 in class of 1964) in Appalachia, so all the county schools were combined into one year book. I have 1960, 61, 62, 63 and of course 64. I also have a 1951 from the same county, which was the first year they shared a yearbook. in '51, the included all the elementary grades as well.

We have lost over a third of our 1964 classmates.

I don’t know why, but I have mine somewhere, (I haven’t unloaded all the boxes yet),
which includes both high school and college.

I had my last 2 years of High School and the opposite of Nathan, mine got wet from a pipe burst and ruined.
I went onto the school reunion site and snipped the friends out off their site that I hung with.
