Do.you have any Thomas Kinkade 'artwork(s)'?

I have a couple of expensive Christmas decoration sculptures. One a lighted snowman wall hanger and the most intricate, a table top lighted Christmas tree with a train going around, ice skaters, and such. Really cool. I have a couple of painting prints. Also the same mug Ruthanne posted a photo of.

I have to admit that I never heard of Thomas Kinkade. My MD/hospital org. opened a brand new facility. There were a lot of nice pictures on the walls. I really liked them. Sitting in the waiting I grew to wanting one. I noticed they were painted by the same guy- Kinkade. I knew they were prints, so I decided to get a couple. How much could a print cost? Well, they start at $800. Then I began to think about hospital organizations. that claim they are losing money AND they have $800 prints on the wall?

I've never seen a Kinkade painting or poster. I've only seen his paintings on Christmas cards, which are always lovely. His work evokes an old-fashioned or bucolic mood which I think is very pleasing. Of course I'm personally old-fashioned. I suppose he gets the same dissing from the contemporary art crowd in the same way that Norman Rockwell had.

(BTW, that was around 2000 when I checked on the prices. Today, I checked. After Kinkade over dosed 14 years ago, the prices have gone way down. Wiki had something about his art company going bankrupt?)
