Do you know what M&M stands for?

This one has me stumped.

But I think I read somewhere the inventor of WD40 named it '40' because it took him 40 tries to find the correct solution. Not sure what the 'WD' stands for.

I don't know what M & M stands for but my favorite is M&M Peanuts!!!! If I try to eat just one, I can't. I have to put them out of sight before I will stop and then it's not easy to leave them alone.

Water Dispkacement

Water Displacement, 40th formula. ...and did you know....

The first company to use WD-40 Multi-Use Product commercially was Convair, an aerospace contractor, to protect the outer skin of the Atlas Missile from rust and corrosion.

TIP
It is great stuff. If your metal patio furniture is showing some rust....spray with WD40 and rub with tinfoil.
It worked beautifully on mine lat year.(y)

Yes I know what it stands for...Mars & Murrie
I was pretty sure Mars was one of the 'M's because back in the day, it seemed like they made 50% of all candy bars. Never heard of Murrie, however. That rotating headlight on all train engines (at least in the US) is called a Mars light. It was invented by Mrs. Mars of the candy company. How she got involved in trains, I don't know.
