Do You Know Where Your Surname Comes From

My maiden name is a very common (now) Dutch name. Few of us are related however, since someone just decided to name everyone, not titled, living in Friesland "the Fries" Yay. My maternal Grandfather was also Frisian but they spoke German and the name means "field farmer" but isn't a German name. Ah, those Frisians! I keep digging for more info.
