Do You Like Chinese Food? Doesn't Everyone?

I went to a family double birthday dinner last night and had the best Chinese meal ever. There is probably 25 or more Chinese eateries where I live but this place last night was exceptionally good. I had GREEN ONION LAMB for the first time and it was fantastic. I am getting hungry thinking about it.:D

Love it. First time I ate Chinese was as a child during a family trip in to Canada, before eating it was widely known here in the US. But, it is interesting to see the difference between authentic Chinese food, and the Americanized versions you see in the take out restaurants and buffets. Both are great, though. Had duck for the first time at a Chinese restaurant.

Glad you had a good time Lon.Our family loves Chinese food also. We have several good Chinese buffets around which I like because I can try all the different dishes. One in particular must be pretty authentic because there are many Chinese customers. Nothing like good Chinese tea served in those little cups. Drinking out of them with your own pot of tea makes it even more special.

We like good Chinese food too. There's a very good restaurant near us that will deliver, and we usually order there enough for a couple of days.

Me and my mom used to go to this Chinese restaurant near where she lived. They had the best Chinese food buffet. I haven't been there in a long time, though. I do like Chinese food a lot.

We've always liked Asian food, and the best in our area is the buffet at the Ameristar Casino, in Kansas City. We always make it a point to enjoy some there on our monthly trips to the city. I got attached to Asian food when I spent a year in Thailand in the mid '60's.

Two friends who lived and worked in China for many years, invited us to a 'Chinese banquet' for the Chinese New year. The food was excellent (except I didn't like the tofu), and nothing like anything I've eaten in a Chinese restaurant. One dish I never order is 'Sweet and sour ' anything.
The chef Ken Hom, describes this dish as being so delicately balanced that you can't tell if it's sweet or sour - not like most restaurant dishes that are hideously sweet.

I love Asian food, would love learn to cook it well. If there were Asian restaurants close by, I'd be a regular patron.
