Do you like Ginger Beer? Is that what is called Root Beer in the US?

A&W was considered the gold standard for root beer; it made them famous. I can tolerate it, barely/bearly. Bretrick, that’s a pun on A&W’s bear.

I hate gingerbread cookies, JMO.

Ginger ale is sort of ok, unless it’s Vernor’s. Adding, Vernon’s is great. It’s one of the few pops that I will buy when I can find it.

Thank you. I have learnt something today.
Actually, that's not quite right. Ginger beer contains hops and is brewed like beer. ORIGINAL root beer also went through a brewing process, but without the hops, and therefore, without the malts. They were both made from ginger root, but most root beer manufacturers no longer use ginger root as the base ingredient, but as a flavoring ingredient, often artificial.

I like root beer when it is part of an ice cream float.
I'm not very fond of ginger snaps. Not sure I've had much exposure to gingerbread, maybe a few times, apparently wasn't very memorable.

I don't drink any soda either but when I was a kid I thought root beer was nice especially a root beer float.

I think ginger ale is good for an upset stomach or so my family believes. I've read that ginger does settle nausea to a degree.

Way back, there was coke syrup you could buy it at the druggist, in a little bottle and that was for nausea and vomiting too.

And ginger ale is not a beer (you probably knew that). I like ginger ale. It's a good cocktail mixer, too. Especially rum cocktails.

I am very fond of ginger beer, but then i like ginger a lot.
I prefer strongly flavored ones which are often not available across the USA: Sioux City soft drink company made one, Bundaberg brand. Most well known brands too bland for me.
Bundaberg also makes root beer the old-fashioned way; they actually brew it, and it's fantastic! Also, it's available here, but not many stores carry it. Even the bottles are old-fashioned, which actually enhances the flavor.

I've never had ginger beer.
Years ago locally made ginger beer in stoneware bottles was quite common.

I do enjoy Canada Dry ginger ale. These days mass-produced ginger ale is made with an ethanol extract of ginger.
Root beer reminds me of my childhood. My grandmother used to make us root beer floats with vanilla ice cream in the summer.

I know and probably the best root beer i recall having, but my preference is the ginger. I eat crystlized ginger as a snack. And in the summer i will sprinkle powered ginger on sliced mangoes and let them 'steep' overnight, so the flavors blend.
