Do you listen to podcasts or audiobooks?

My favorite topics are true but covered up history, history's great mysteries, humor, dark history, fake history, historical blindness, american scandal, freaky folklore. As you can see, history fascinates me. Not what has been trickled down and modified for image sake, but the real stuff that makes us all human or inhuman whatever the case may be. Humanity is a darkness we all share, some more than others, are they any less human than you or me?

It is easy judge the world around us because we look out with our eyes, rather than inward where the real work needs to be done.

I like dark history to exemplify the capabilities of the human race, myself included as a human.

I subscribe Spotify, but here are some more links too. check out. https://libravox.com. paid version less $3.00 a month, free version with commercials
https://audible.com. Amazon.com
https://libby.com. You need a library card to borrow audiobooks here, wide selection
podcasts include google.com. Apple Podcasts, I heart radio, Amazon music, PBS Newshour,

Since you enjoy history I suggest you look into Hardcore History by Dan Carlin. He delves deeply into history from all eras and does it in a human way as opposed to being scholarly about it if that makes sense. The episodes are long, up to two to three hours though. He just finished a six part series on the rise of Japan starting in the late 1920's up to the end of WW2.

No re podcasts. To be honest, if I'm listening to a recording, I'd rather simultaneously watch the face of the person speaking. Otherwise, it's just too hard to keep track of speaking without seeing the speaker's face. So, I skip podcast-only recordings altogether every time.

Some books are not available (to me) in print. I signed up for Audible.com but the monthly subscription was too expensive.

I was able to listen to a book in Audiobooks.com and pay for just that book. That suited me better. I listened to The Skeptics' Guide to the Future while exercising (instead of playing music).

I want to improve my Spanish but don't feel like studying. So these days, while I exercise, I listen to two podcasts on Spotify:

Astronomía y algo más
TED en español

I'll look around for others I might enjoy.

I like podcasts when I walk. Ones about health and fitness keep me motivated.
I like Max Lugavere. Young guy who researches ways to prevent Alzheimer's/dimentia.

Podcasts, several hours per day. They’re my background company. At bedtime I put on something casual/boring or sounds designed for meditation. In the middle of the night when I’ve been awake too long, I play the same meditation sound tracks. It’s distracting, even if it doesn’t put me to sleep. Some have video too. I don’t want that because I need to rest my eyes. A couple of podcasters smoke cigars; I hate watching that.

I don't listen to audiobooks. I do follow and watch 3 of the former Newstalk radio hosts from KGO from San Francisco. (the station is no more) They have shows on YouTube. Can watch live or the upload after the live show. I think their shows are also available on podcast sights but I don't have a smart phone. I use the computer.

This isn't a podcast but I found this YouTube channel very interesting.
