Do You Look When You Get A Shot Or Blood Test?

I sure don't as I figure the nurse or doctor knows where to jab you for a shot and I hate the sight of blood.

NO! I used to faint when getting shots or blood drawn, but have since stopped that when I got to a certain age.

I sometimes watch .. doesn't bother me. My hubby is another story .. he pulls down his glasses so he can't see.

Why do 100% of all news pieces insist on showing the needles going in and not only in the virus thing but every flu season.

Both of us just got back from our blood tests this morning. I use to look away, but now I watch and am fascinated how thin my blood is. I do take blood thinners.

I wish they would just stick me instead of telling me that "Ok you're gonna feel a stick." Well no sh*t Sherlock. Just do it so I don't tense up first. LOL

Funny, when I was a kid, was quarantined for 9 months, the doc came every Friday and told me to "bend over the bed" so he could jab me with that big needle full of Penicillin!

Now I usually don't look, am concentrating on "relaxing my shoulders and arm" so it doesn't get sore later. Nice to look, though, once in a while and be sure your blood is "RED"...lol.

Yes, but not if I suspect the phlebotomist wouldn't like it. Wouldn't want to make them nervous at such a time.

I always do,has never bothered me. I did get my Phlebotomy license several years ago,so there`s that,but I loked long before I got that. Actually,the two reasons I never worked in the field was 1) All positions here are per diem and I wanted to work full time and 2)After doing my internship,I had sooooo many people who were "needle phobic" that it made me crazy. I never,EVER,hurt anyone drawing blood. Our instructor taught us a method that guaranteed there would be no pain and since we practiced on each other daily for 8 weeks,I KNOW that it was totally painless. And even the fearful patients were always impressed. I had no problem at all with kids who were afraid-that`s normal. But full grown men? Puleeze! Decided maybe it wasn`t the occupation for me lol.

I do. In fact I've had a phlebotomist comment that I watch them. I guess many don't. I should be getting my covid immunization today also.

I always do. That way I know exactly when the needle is going into my arm. I don't like surprises.

Not look generally, but once during a protracted period in hospital forty odd years ago I did get so used to needles I could watch them being used.

I won't watch an injection but will watch a lab blood draw or an IV....that's strange, just realized this.
