Do you need to apply for disability before you can get an evaluation from social security? I don't remember how I did it.

How do you get the evidence that you need to get disability?
 

Call (800) 772-1213 to get correct answer. Write down your questions and ask all of them to make sure you don't have to keep calling. Their lines are busy so you need to be patient - you might be on hold awhile. But this is not something to guess at or to get different answers and guesses from various people.

Also, you should write more descriptive titles for threads..."an answer" doesn't tell people what the subject of the thread is.

A forum reader should know what a thread is about from the title alone. Some titles don't give other members the slightest ideas what they are about, I for one have a terrible memory and have to click into a thread every time to know if I have read it. :(

We strongly suggest members using descriptive titles, long titles are preferred.

You're not stupid at all Jane, common thing on forums, just makes it easier for others to see what you're asking about.
