I shop mostly offline, I prefer to go to a brick and mortar store locally and look at the item, especially if it's clothes or shoes. There are some thing though, you're forced to buy online. Late this season our window air conditioner started dying after many years of use. I went to all the local stores after seeing a nice small 5,000 BTU Frigidare model on the websites, but no stores had them in stock.

I ordered one from Home Depot online, but then we got a notice that it wouldn't be available for another couple of weeks, so we cancelled. We were going out of town and didn't want any appliances sitting on our front step. Then we ordered one from Best Buy online, because they also didn't have it in stock. Well, it came on time but was damaged. One edge was completely crushed from top to bottom and the coils in the back were damaged. It looked like it was damaged when they packed it.

So we took it to the local Best Buy to return it and get a refund, and she said she could reorder one and have it delivered straight to the store that next Wednesday, when I made the initial order the site said no delivery to store. Anyhoo, I agreed and found out that that order was going to be delayed for another couple of weeks, I cancelled the order and told them to forget about it.

Sears had one that was similar, but you also had to order that online, I didn't bother with that after all the hassles I already had. I really rather look at it in a store, bring it home and check it out, keep it or return right that day if it's broken. Call me old fashioned. :D

I think I would get an AC in person, too. They are so heavy and can damage. I have ordered a few large products online with no problems, though.

We ordered a king sized headboard online once from Target, that was big and bulky but arrived in good condition.

I shop online and offline.... but I always shop for groceries Offline....I do hate grocery shopping but I'd rather choose the best dates and freshest food myself than have someone else pick it and deliver it.. I also prefer to shop for clothing instore... but most things for the house I buy online...

Mostly offline, local and used.

I do buy a few things on eBay and a few things from specialty retailers online.

I try to keep up with how the online shopping is advancing because it could make a huge difference in my ability to be self sufficient as I get older.

I shop mostly online; Amazon is my friend. I belong to prime so - with rare exception shipping is free. I do shop for groceries (with my daughter) at the local store. I don't buy many clothes anymore - mostly I wear Tee shirts and slacks and I have a closet full - some I've had for 20 years. I don't seem to wear clothes out much anymore, so I keep them forever.

Talking of big, bulky items, my house is pretty small. The living room is ok sized, but far from spacious. I wanted it to feel roomy. The best piece I could find off-line was a love seat. I decided the second couch would be a park bench. I looked everywhere for a nice solid one...no luck.

I found one online; iron with a black powder-coat finish for only $99. It arrived without even a scratch. I had to assemble it, but that was easy. Then I ordered a cushion for it and my daughter got me a few throw pillows, and it looks really cool, I think. But, yeah, it's heavy and I was surprised it showed up in perfect condition.

I buy online as necessary but really prefer browsing in stores.

The thing that is happening is that many of our older and best stores can no longer compete so they are just closing. Now I have no stores left to browse in. Wards, JC Penney, and some specialty stores have pulled from the malls. Many malls now look like blacktopped areas for the empty stores. Not many care there in those back topped areas. Even our grocery stores are getting fewer and they try ideas like call in your order and we call back when packaged and ready to pick up.

Not too sure I like this impersonal buying at all.

I hate shopping, so much prefer doing most of it all online. In fact, it has made shopping pleasurable. Can listen to music of my choosing, never crowded, and looking for a parking space is no problem.
