Do you stay at a family/friends house when you visit their city or town?

Not if I can help it. I have a cousin that won’t take “NO” for an answer, so I relent and let her have her way. But, mostly I (we) prefer staying in a nice motel like Holiday Inn Express or Hampton.

aside from occasionally at my daughters'...and she has a guest cottage on her property where we stay sometimes.. I really hate staying in other people's homes!! I like my own freedom to come and go and not put other people out of their routine for me.. , so when visiting friends or family we book a a rental or a hotel

Yes I have a sister in Melbourne where I was born ..I never stay any longer than two nites as we would get on one another’s nerves any longer than that

No we do not. We have a motorhome that we use for travel and typically just reserve a spot in an RV park closeby. The only exception is my sister, who lives on a farm and has plenty of area for us to park the RV. We still stay in our own "accomodations," though.

Hotel always. I want to come and go as I please and not feel like I'm imposing or feel uncomfortable in someone else's home. I've always felt funny having people go out of their way for me no matter what it is. I try to always be 100% self sufficient.

Do not like staying with family when visiting, never did. Always felt too confining and uncomfortable for everybody. Visiting, and then having a hotel room to go to for the night always worked best.

NEVER want to stay at a relative's house! I need my privacy, and some alone and down-time during travel and visits. But having said that, now that my daughter has two children and lives on the other side of the country, when I go out there to visit it's to help her with the kids, so yes, she asks me to stay with her at her home. When me and my husband visit his family, I insist on getting a hotel, but upon their insistence, I did stay ONE night at their home. I guess it's an individual situation type of thing. Can the host easily accommodate overnight guests? Do they really WANT overnight guests? And how long is the visit? Lots of variables, but if I had my choice I would always stay in a hotel (except for the cost factor).
