Do you still have any "side effects" from the pandemic. It's 2025 now so...,,🙂‍↔️

:geek: I'm just curious if anyone still has had side effects of the Pandemic which has been over for awhile now.

I noticed I still wash my hands more but of course not like I did in 2020. I also managed to gain a lot of weight. I hadn't been able to take it off. I'm trying now.

How about you?

I guess the jury is still out on the possible long-term effects of Covid, but a friend of ours who was in the hospital for 3 weeks in 2020 while he had it just passed away. Yeah, he wasn't young (80) but up until he got the Virus, he was healthy as could be, jogged, exercised, didn't take any medicines, ate super-healthy but was never the same after the Virus; he kept having strokes--never had high blood pressure or high cholest. before--got to where he could no longer walk or even feed himself before he died. Maybe all that would've happened anyway even if he'd never had the Virus, but I doubt it, as healthy as he was before. Very sad.

Yes, that Is very sad. And you are right about the jury still being out on this topic.

Hospitalised inMarch/April 2020. Had several long term effects and issues both physical and mental. Doing ok now and 'mostly better' which I suspect is as good as I'll get. It's certainly better than the alternative which I was very lucky to avoid.

I recovered from the bout I had but I had also had 3 vaccines by then which I am sure helped my case be mild. I have asthma so was really worried plus a friend of mine died from it before the vaccine came out. The effects of long covid for some people were awful.

The lockdown was actually a very peaceful time for me. I enjoyed no one being around and got a lot of quiet walking around done. I really didn't mind covid.
I too enjoyed the solitude of being alone. We moved during lockdown. I don’t have any ill effects of lock down. I’ve gained weight but that’s manly due to the medication I’m on. One of the main side effects is weight gain. I’ve started dieting and I’ve lost 7 pounds in the last month, eating mainly salads.

That's good! I too have been just eating less, smaller portions . I've gone down 11 pounds. I like salads but ate so many of them I'm a bit tired of them and veggies. I will get back to them when I get a taste for them.

I’m getting a bit tired of them also but I make sure I have a good portion of protein like a meat, chicken, turkey or fish to mix in with it.
Tomorrows Easter and I plan on cheating some then my husbands birthday is coming up and I plan on having cheesecake and Hagen daz ice cream. It will be a small cheesecake and small container of ice cream.
It’s his 60 th so a special bd.

I guess the most aggravating part of it are the prices.
In 2019 I started building a 32'X24' garage with a lake facing Patio.
By late 2020 and finished, the scarcity and price raises got it to over $40,000
Near $1000 a load for concrete. I remember $3 a yard for cement as a youngster.
$6 as a late 20-year-old. Now at 2020 over $120. 40x increase in that timespan.

Ok think of the minimum wage increase in the same time frame. 15x

I'm sure all these Tariffs will push my costs up again, most likely
10% + within 2 years probably much more for important new stuff!

I might add 90 out of 100 are at least 20 lbs. overweight, with the others basically wearing skin for clothes.

That all sounds delicious. I think protein is very important. I don't know what I'll have for dinner tomorrow. I might defrost a small strip steak tonight. I don't know. It's just me now and no one else to cook for.

Except a lot the meat is glued together and cut to look like normal meat.
If it is packaged beware.
Very Chewy, not swallowable, you spit the chud out on the plate. tasty though.
