Do you still owe that Record Club?

Remember, those record clubs. If you didn't send in the card, and then you got "The Musical Stylings of Tommy Gluck " And they hounded you forever!!! Whenever you saw "Terre Haute" on the envelope, it was them. They were like rabid dogs, wouldn't let you go.

Oh, yes.....and just try to cancel out of the program (CANCEL AT ANY TIME AFTER YOUR FIRST PAID SELECTION!!!!!) For some reason, they never, ever received cancellation requests. Lost in the mail, I guess.

Many years ago we had this skit/joke we would do when our band was playing somewhere..

It started out by me announcing to the crowd, "You know I'm really happy tonight, I just signed a great record deal."

The rest of the band would look at the floor, shake their heads, and tell me I didn't know what I was talking about.

Then I'd say, " What do you mean, it's a great deal. I get four free records to start with, and then only have to buy six more in a year."

The incident that comes to mind is when they sent a notice threatening to sue my brother for not returning the cards on time- he hadn't been receiving the cards because he was in the military stationed in Vietnam.
