Do you still write checks?

Writing checks is now considered "Old School". Fewer and fewer businesses are accepting checks. Target announced that they will stop accepting checks this month. Personally, when I'm in line at the grocery store, and the person, at the register, whips out a check book, Awwwwwwww. What's even worse, is the dreaded overhead announcement, "Manager to Register 3 for check approval".
Do you still write checks at stores?

I was just about to create a similar thread after reading the story about Target!

I can't remember the last time I wrote a check. It's been at least a year, I think, and it wasn't at a store; it was to pre-pay my quarterly taxes.

I don't mind if a person in front of me at a store writes a check, unless they wait to start filling it out until the total has been announced (i.e., instead of filling in the date, merchant name, etc., while their items are being rung up). Then I get grouchy.

Wrote one this morning. To pay the water bill it's that or cash. Someone has to be there to pay in cash and get a receipt, even though they should be 9-1, it ain't necessarily so.

Usually 2 month: Electric and Water Bill, offices so close in this little town it is really simplest way. Use Debit card for most things, Cash for firewood, Once every couple of years one for septic tank cleaning. Pay everything else online.

Only my wife does!

For years she believed that as long as she had checks in the checkbook, she could write checks.
I finally, got that under control, don't ask how. But trying to convert her to using credit cards or online ordering...well just forget it, that's not going to happen!

Not at stores, but I still send a check to one of our utility providers and to Meesh's school. Neither of them do payment transactions online. I'm guessing that's because they can't guarantee security.

Cheques are still my postal method of payment. When I get an invoice, say from a utility company, if amongst their method of payments it includes cheques, that's how I pay. Retail purchases get cash, real cash, those banknotes you get from the bank or cash machine. I never pay by card, nor by credit transfer or bankers (standing) order. I would never trust the payment online method.
There again, old school that I am, instead of email I send a letter, one of those handwritten notes that you put in an envelope, attach a stamp and send it via Royal Mail.

Not in stores, but I write checks for the handyman, the lawn service, and for mailing to charities. I still prefer to use cash in restaurants.

Yes from home to pay a few bills each month. Never at stores. Refuse to use online banking. Own just one credit card. Also always carry cash $$$.

I shop with credit cards and pay with the check for most of my bills. Occasionally, say Water & Sewer are auto pay.
Figure they are the ones to screw with ya. Wish I had never joined Nexamp, Solar is a pita. I could join a Petrol App
but the bank only does Internet, no paperwork monthly statements for them. Another PITA !

The Wife likes to use her phone. Thas her. But she hates being bothered with details about it. Haha
