Do you track package deliveries?

I put myself on an 'online shopping diet' for awhie, but recently ordered a few things. I really like how we can track Fedex, etc. via email.

Got one item yesterday, right on schedule. The other two items were due for delivery today.....I had to go out briefly and they were delivered while I was out. The packages were small so they were placed inside my storm door so they wouldn't be visible to porch pirates.

Wheee!! It's like Christmas morning! :pepper:

I've found that WalMart and Nordstrom seem to have the most efficient processing and fastest delivery. Never had a problem with their orders.

This is why I like shopping with Amazon. I can not only track my package, I know who is delivering it. That way I have a good idea what time of day to start watching for delivery. With so much talk of packages being stolen, I like to be able to grab it as soon as it hit the porch.

Yup

and, even my mail
USPS emails me everything coming and delivered to my PO Box...even the junk letters
I love that
our mail is 25 mi south

One more little thing on tracking packages, in my case, mail;

The little town 25 mi south of us is the closest post office.
A PO Box should be rather safe, non-incidental….get a bag of mail, sort it, put it in the correct slot, same PO Box number as what’s on the letter.

Riiiiiight

A clerk at our post office seems to be of the persuasion having it within the office is good enough.
She may or may not get it in the correct slot.
I asked her about this
‘Oh well, it happens, bad on me’
Rather flip
Wunna my pension checks is somewhat important.
(The company won’t auto deposit it, I’ve pleaded, begged, threatened).
It sat in a defunct slot, three boxes down.
A week later I arranged for the check to be cancelled and a new one written….at my cost.
The original check ‘turned up’
I held my cool, but politely unformed her of my dependence on that check.
It had as much effect on her as if I’d said, ‘Lady, it’s gonna rain in Spain, but mainly on the plain.’
A shrug, and ‘oh well, it happens’

Last month, same thing.
But!
Now USPS faithfully sends me what has arrived, for me.
I showed her it had arrived.
She informed me they have til 10am to get the mail out.
It was 9:45
Moments later, another clerk came runnin’ out to my pickup, where I sat, seething, keeping a vigil on the clock on my phone.
Waving my letter..’here it is, we hadn’t gotten to the 800s yet’

Four clerks, maybe a hundred pcs of mail, there since 8am.

How tough can it be?

I wonder how hard it really is for a postal worker to get fired.

I like to track my items too, especially if it's something I'm anxious to get. Been pretty pleased with online delivery, the items usually come sooner than they say or right on time, no complaints. Most things I get are mailed USPS or UPS.

I track everything and my Amazon stuff always gets here a couple of days earlier than expected. I do not use prime as there is nothing I order that I cannot wait a few days for. But they arrive earlier anyway. Walmart is very prompt also with free shipping!!

I track what I've ordered and also what I've sent out, I love it. Sure a lot nicer than back in the olden days. I think if I lived in town and didn't have a gate for the deliveries to be tossed over, I'd sit on my porch and wait if I could. There are just too many lazy people who like to lift your delivery before you even know it's there.

Tracking one as we speak..
Edit: I just checked again, my package is due on Friday, left the seller Monday night (no prime ship) and has not moved from UPS since Tuesday!!
I have not been happy with UPS tracking in the past!!

Yup!

The one carrier that I have trouble with is UPS.

They have an odd system for some items that they call UPS MAIL INNOVATIONS. UPS picks up a bulk order from the merchant and transports the items to various USPS hubs for final distribution and delivery. The process may save money for the merchant but the delivery time on many items increases from three days up to about two weeks. I would much rather pay the merchant a couple dollars more and have my items shipped by USPS.
