Do you use a top sheet?

saw this question come up on Facebook and some posters got really riled up when others didn't do same as them

I do like one but many people here don't use them any more and just have a fitted sheet and then a duvet/doona with removable covers.

Yes I use a top sheet and bottom sheet otherwise I’d have to wash my comforter every week which I don’t.

No. I sleep under a military wool blanket with a fitted sheet beneath.
Seemed to work okay aboard ships and in barracks.

For me, the top sheet is essential because it creates options. Sometimes I sleep just with that and other times I layer a blanket on top.

It’s one of those things that I grew up with and never felt the need to question.

I suppose that it could depend on what a person wears to bed, how often you wash blankets, etc…

Yes. It never occurred to me not to use the top sheet that comes with sheet sets.
I use the pillow cases too.

I use a large sheet of sandpaper for both the bottom and top sheet. I find it a better exfoliate than cotton.

Seems much more common in US then or perhaps in older age group. Very common here to use only a fitted sheet and a duvet.
You can buy fitted sheets singly, you don't have to buy them in a set.

No, after living in Germany I got hooked on the duvet (I call it a giant pillowcase), a twin size one that’s fairly easy to change without wrenching out my back.

In the UK and Europe it's much more common to use a fitted bottom sheet, and a duvet (inside a washable duvet cover), but during the summer, it can get too hot for a duvet, in which case we tend to just have the duvet cover over us, and treat it like a topsheet.

Yes, I sleep between a fitted sheet and a top sheet, seems the easiest approach when it comes to weekly washing. Matter of fact they're in the dryer right now

I have a king sized bed. Having to wash and put back on that duvet cover sucks. I will always have a top sheet.

No…down comforter is only thing on top, year round.

Yes, that was the way I was raised. Daughter and oldest son use one but not younger son.
