Do You Wait Until After The Movie/TV Credits Finish Rolling?

I have seen a few movies and a couple of T.V. episodes in which key scenes come after the credits finish rolling or in between credit screens. One was Black Panther which we saw in the theater. People actually cheered for the final scene. Another was the 2016 version of Ghostbusters starring Melissa McCarthy. I think one of the most important scenes in that movie happened after the credits. It wasn't a great movie to begin with so why they did that I don't know. Godzilla, King Of the Monsters (2019 version) also had a key scene after the credits finished.

I'm rewatching Moonlighting (Bruce Willis and Cybil Sheppard). They did a cute scene after or in between the credits in one of the episodes. I saw another show that did the same but can't remember what it is right now. Do you sit through the credits or do you leave or go on to something else (if you're home) when the credits start rolling?

Sometimes depends if we know anyone on the crew... same with TV shows...

When I was a young mum in my early 20's , I worked in the Cinema as an Usherette, and during my time there...we had Star Wars showing for 6 weeks in Cinema 1 which was our biggest theatre out of 3... and seated 1000 people.... and almost every night there would be at least a quarter of the audience staying behind to see the credits which lasted 8 minutes... to the very end.. while we waited patiently or impatiently... to clear up, close up and go home at 11pm..

In general I usually left when the movie ended but there were a few times when I was blown away by a movie and i stayed until the credits ended just to recover from what I watched. "Saving Private Ryan" comes to mind.

My husband just stops the movie right after it’s finished but I like listening to the music. I find an abrupt stop sort of wrecks the movie, in my opinion. It’s usually only one song and it lists who played what parts and lists the songs that were used which I find interesting.

On regular TV they really don't show the closing credits on many movies it seems. Probably takes away from advertising time.

But in theatres yes. Though I haven't been to the movies in years. I think one of the reasons is I'm happy to wait for the crowd to exit. I'm usually about the last off a plane also, for that reason.

Once in a while my son takes me to the movies with his family. They always sit through the credits because they are interested in the names of the producers, special effects people, etc.. I'm not interested because I won't remember all those names, so I use the time to quietly chat with my granddaughter, who also isn't interested.

Often especially now that in credit scenes are inserted more often. When younger i did because with movies that effected me deeply i was interested in the behind the scenes influencers: writers, directors, cinematographers. Now i know i can get that info on IMDb.
