"Do You Want to Round Up to...?" Would You Like To Donate Your Change?" No.

Oh yeah, thanks really kind of ridiculous. Have you got rid of the change yet?
yes I took it all to the bank...I had to take it in £50 increments because that's all the bank would take at the time.. ( they've changed it to £100 now )..

Never been asked? But in all honesty, I rarely shop anymore. Get my groceries and medicines at drive-ups and vehicle pick ups for the groceries. Kids and grandkids pick up most odds and ends and I have no idea if they're being asked to "round up" but now I will ask them - -just out of curiosity.

it is an easy way for many to raise funds perhaps they feel a person is more likely to donate that way.
I myself find it self serving for the corporations ..... who say WE (and often in fine print our customers) donated XX amount of money to this charity ......... so to many who missed the fine print believe the company is soooo generous....
wonder if the take a tax write off in similar fashion ........ taking credit for their customers generosity NOT their own.

Good point and interesting question!

Can’t remember which store had this round up option question after each self-checkout purchase. It must not have been successful because it didn’t last long.
