Do you watch TV?

We have cable but tend to mostly watch news and record shows we like. We buy DVD's of shows that we watched but do not have commercials and haven't watched in years. I would limit channels if I could on Dish but they only have packages. I do not understand streaming very well.

It's always on in the background; a cable new show is what is generally on. So I can get & stay depressed and angry, I guess :ROFLMAO:
I sit and watch for actual TV, a series on broadcast; something on HBO or streaming. I take the sit and watch TV seriously, and will actually listen. I am dedicated to my two soaps in the afternoon. Mornings I generally have Sirius Radio on too. Howard Stern. I love him. But that is radio, not TV.

Can you get by with over the air TV with 4/5 channels at most? Then there's basic cable. Expanded Cable TV. And for the hardcore TV nuts there's HBO, Net flicks, etc.
Do you watch TV? and how much?
I dropped cable years ago and only have "over the air TV." From time to time, it's necessary to do a rescan, but I get more than 4/5 channels. An average of 30 channels is more like it. So, plenty to choose from, but I don't spend a lot of time watching it..

I use old fashioned antenna television, old fashioned meaning free! 😉🤭😂

It’s usually on but I find myself playing on my iPhone most of the time.

I’m not sure if it’s my age or my addiction to the internet but I find my attention span gets shorter and shorter.

These days I rarely watch a program from start to finish.

I could probably get along without a television. 🤔

I watch a lot of tv, it was actually a part of my retirement plan. I have access to thousands and thousands of content and actually no cable. With Roku, a web video caster and player on both phone and tv, I can stream straight from phone to tv. Plus with an APK..... Absolutely everything is free through the right TV and movie APK. Netflix, Disney, HBO etc etc. I watch ALL that content for free and have been for years. I just finished watching the whole season of 'Mobland' yesterday for free and don't have Paramount+

Yes... everything is out there and not stealing. The streaming device companies support the apps and software.

Fuzz, that's like asking me if I like breathing. 😊

Yes, as I grown much older and I can't do all the physical things I used to do, so, I park my backside infront of the TV most of the time.

It's also a way for me to vent my anger by shouting at the presenters, and, if they are irritating me I shout, "Right, that's your lot you boring b****rd, I'm switching channels."

It's also a good medium for sending me to sleep.

Oh yes, I love my telly. 😊

As with most things i can can be selective about my viewing. When daughter off work we watch certain shows together. (SciFi, procedural crime shows, the comedy 'Ghosts'). My own watching in late afternoon and evening mornings, chores, reading) when she's working run a gamut from science and history documentaries, to sitcoms, to mystery and 'thriller' movies(ROKU gives access to several free channels with broad selections) to YouTube videos. I have a playlist of meditation music and hypnotic and/or soothing videos i turn to for mid day and evening meditations.

Yes AD FREE streaming only, I have 3 paid and 1 FREE service active. I have 2 others (AcornTV, BritBox) that I cancelled, will be starting back soon. My total including DSL provider is around $65 a month. (NetFlex, Prime, Masterpiece & TUBI (free)).

Watch everything on my laptop with headphones (hearing problems). Have ROKU TV but hasn't been turned on in over 2 months. Tried TV EARS but device broke down. Wife & DD watch their Chromebooks in peace.

Just ordered a 21.5 Dell 'All in One' for better viewing & headphone enhancement. Will be converted to a LinuxOS for my use.

Very rarely. No shows that are.... modest and without bad language. I don't want to see it or hear it. 🤷‍♀️

Off-topic, but this reminded me of something. I recall being in Utah, Salt Lake City. I visited a Blockbuster video to buy some movies, and found a selection including normal rated movies, and those edited especially for the Mormon community. Apparently they censor all the nudity and swearing. I was surprised.

Reading this it reminded me that my TV/internet package has to be renewed soon. For some reason it has disappeared off my calendar. There’s no warning until you get a bill at full price.

We wouldn’t give up the basic cable plan for news and some light entertainment. I record HOME tv and watch it while making dinner. I am addicted to the International House buying shows. During sport seasons, DH watches the finals. Little things like this probably aren’t worth the price for these higher end packages. The carrier has worked it that giving up one thing means the prices of other parts go up. You can never find out these prices until you’re on the phone negotiating a package.

I mainly watch Youtube videos. I have a small flat screen with the Fire Stick. I can watch Prime Video shows, movies or channels they offer but I rarely do. It is not on all the time only after I turn my computer off for the night. I have not watched cable or network television since around 1996. Never missed it.
