Do you worry about your favorite things running out?

As I've gotten older I've gotten more ... opinionated? .... discerning? .... habitual? .... about products I use, clothing brands I wear, foods I eat, and sometimes I'll stock up on something just in case it's discontinued or I can't find it again or whatever.

For example. I have a bunch of bottles of Japanese Cherry Blossom lotion from Bath and Body Works in my stockpile. It's a lovely rich lotion, it's my favorite fragrance, and I've been using it for years. When B&BW has a sale, I'll order several more bottles. I've tried other brands, but I don't like them as much. So I stock up.

There's a Kroger brand of water additive, their Peach Tea Flavor, that is my favorite of every one of those kinds of products of any brand type. I've also been buying that for years, and I always have several boxes in my pantry. A couple weeks ago I couldn't find it. It was just gone from the shelf, and in my panic I thought it was discontinued, went to the manager, he had no idea and I was so sad. Then just last week I was in that same section trying to find an alternative. Something caught my eye and WHAM!!! IT WAS STILL THERE!!! But they'd completely changed the packaging so I didn't recognize it anymore!!! I'm not going to embarrass myself by telling you how many boxes I bought! :cool:

There's a certain brand of leggings that are my faves. They come up high enough, are long enough (I'm tall/long legs so length is always a problem) feel really soft, don't pill, and once I found them, I was so happy that I kept going back and getting more. And no, I'm not going to tell you how many leggings I have either! ;) Just know that I don't think there's a pattern or color in that line that I don't now own!

What about you? Do you have a stockpile of favorite things in case they stop making them?

Unfortunately, it never occurred to me to buy extras of favorite items, but learned either companies went out of business or merged, or no longer made specific products.
Examples: Caress brand's Spring Blush products; Avon's Sweet Honesty soap; and a Max Factor foundation.
Awhile back I did find the foundation listed online, bought one although it was quite expensive, and found it was not the same product as I'd been familiar with. :(
As for the Caress and Avon items, I found both on ebay, but didn't order because I wondered what scented products would be like when the lines were discontinued decades ago.. :eek:

They have, but life goes on .....:)
some of my favorites over the years have gone away for good ... my favorite perfume for one.
Some favorite candies/food have been 're-invented" over time.
And I enjoyed some old clothes styles back in the 50's-60's, and if I look hard I can find a few things on "Vintage" sites.

Like Ronni, it's leggings - for the opposite reason (I'm 5' tall). Leggings in Petite length are hard to find, so, when I do find them, I'll buy 3 at a time. I also stock up on capri leggings because they're almost all I wear in the summer.

Bras, I also buy, 2 or 3 at a time, in black/white/nude or a pretty colour such as pink or aqua. Panties, I also stockpile.

Oh, and shoes/boots. Same style, different colours. Two pair at a time, sometimes three pair.

Oh, let me tell ya, sister;

If I happen to really like the fit/feel of an article of clothing/shoes.....I'm goin' back to the store and buying out my size.
The reason why.....stores just don't keep with brands/styles like they used to.

I have two dozen pairs of work socks, thick in the toe and heel (all same colors so they're uni-mate)
Summer socks...two dozen black anklets

Shirts/levis; Wrangler used to be pretty steady...but no more
And getting exactly what I want when shopping on line is a crap shoot

I've gone to one style of shoe;
Low cut work boots
I have 4 pair (one clean pair for town)
Price; from $60-$300 does not seem to make a difference in wear or feel
The lone pair of black wingtips get dusted off for funerals (hope my lady dusts them off for me, one day)

Yeah, there are several things, that if I like 'em, I'm goin' back for more.....many many more

Sometimes I do think 'I'll never have to look for these again'

Oh, and I have this Old Navy hooded coat that I may never ever find again
Wife keeps sewing it in places
Now she's sewing over the sewing

I hoard a few things that I don't want to run out of - peanut butter, fruit (sweet tooth), TP (has to be the 4" extra wide), soap.
Oh, & I never run out of ammo. :)
