Doctor has given me another 5 weeks recuperation with my broken ankle and it will be reviewed early in the new year.

Might not be able to resume normal duties.
Work has said they will keep me on and find me something I can do without stressing my foot.

I cracked some bones in my ankle many years ago when working at our plant. They wanted me to come back as I did have some work I could do in Maintenance that let me sit.

Well their dang insurance & OSHA said NO as being on crutches I could fall & then lawsuits. So I had to stay home for the full 8 weeks. I did get my short-term medical payment but that was only about 50% of what I made when working 10 to 14 hrs. a day.

I will not be going back with crutches. Dangerous because any fall could exacerbate the injury.
Currently my workers compensation is the average I earned over the previous 13 weeks before the injury. So I am happy with that.
