This is what i came across.

https://superfoodly.com/what-is-nutritional-yeast/

After reading this, i decided not to.
I am wondering if anyone who does use nooch (NY) has experienced anything other than the benefits.
Thanks for the intro to this product Ronni, but as much as i would hv liked to try it out, it may not sit well with me.
I probably don't consume a third of a cup of nutritional yeast over the course of a month, never mind a day.@Senenity .. for whatever use it is to you..
From NutritionFacts.org
No detectable lead levels were found in Bob’s Red Mill, Bragg, Dr. Fuhrman, Red Star, or NOW Foods brand nutritional yeast.
We found detectable amounts of lead in samples of Frontier, KAL, and Whole Foods brand nutritional yeast, but the lead levels were so low that they all comply with the exceedingly (and justifiably) strict California Prop 65 standards. Still, I advise pregnant women who eat more than a third of a cup a day on a regular basis choose a different brand.
Season foods. May give it a try.for whatever use it is to you..
Me neither and I don't exactly just sprinkle it. I use it liberarely in soups, beans, potatoes, homemade pizza, all kinds of stuff. Not every day but several times a month.I use it all the time, have a bottle sitting on the dining table along side the salt and pepper. Never had a bad reaction or any of the side effects listed above.
It took me years to like the stuff. For me, the brand made a big difference. Some really are better than others. Also, I think it's best used in small amounts. I seldom ever use more than a tablespoon or two in a recipe and it's plenty. Anything more than that is just too much, in my opinion.Maybe I should try it again. It’s been about 45 years. Wasn’t really fond of it.
