So it wouldn't still heat while unable to rotate? The way that MWs currently work today?

if the motor quits it will either stop running altogether or stop heating regardless of whether there's a turntable or not. although i see what you're getting at. if the turntable quits i don't know that it will still heat the stuff. mine quit and the food wouldn't heat so idk.

Not in my MW's case. The turntable doesn't spin but the MW still cooks.
