Because we have three dogs, two of whom are seniors, and one of whom is my tiny old lady chihuahua who is somewhat incontinent so we lay down a pee pad in between walks, I’m always sensitive to the way the house smells.
I’m constantly washing dog beds and blankets. Both the rugs in the laundry room and den (where the dogs hang out the most) are both washable. They’re bathed and groomed every 4-6 weeks.
Plus I’m a picky housekeeper so I scrub and mop and clean all the time.
I also use plug in fragrances from Bath and Body works. They impart a subtle fragrance, not overpowering or noxious, and combined with the smells of washing powder and fabric softener my home always smells fresh. Several grands and my daughter, all of whom have an acute olfactory sense, comment “your house smells so nice!” That’s good enough for me!!
I have a dear Indian friend who does a lot of ethnic cooking, and her house always smells like curry! Makes my mouth water every time I visit her..I love curry!!
What about you? What does your place small like?
