What type of car do you drive and does it suit your lifestyle now, or would you prefer a different car altogether?

After having all different types and makes of cars over the years...sporty and otherwise...I now drive a Boxy ford fusion Zetec because I have lower back problems and needed to have something that was easier to get in and out of but was still big enough to carry everything I need while still being fairly quick off the mark. A smallish car with a raised seating position and like Dr who's tardis is much bigger in the inside than it looks from the out..

I have a Ford Fiesta Zetec; 4 doors so aged people can get in...
the car I loved best was a Ford Puma; great for a two car family, but not practical for an over 60 on her own!

I drive a Jeep Cherokee.... for the most part it does NOT as I don't do any off roading or climbing mountain trails.. However, I do drive the freeway 50 miles a day.. the gas milage is pretty good.. AND I navagate Chicago winters and have had to climb over snow drifts and drive on pure ice. The Cherokee does this very well.. I feel very safe and secure in it.

I've just recently bought a GMC Terrain, its the first suv I've owned, before I had a Buick Lacross, I'll have to say the sedan was easier to get in and out of as the GMC's seats are curved upward on the edge but otherwise I like riding higher up and I like the lift on the back and all the storage in the back, easier loading and unloading groceries.

In '05 I bought a new GMC Envoy (Similar to Jackie's Terrain) and love it. It is a reliable straight 6 and gets good gas mileage but still has a trailer hitch
on the back in case I have to haul something. I like it's size and configuration so I could actually live in it, if I HAD to.

The car I drive the most is my '96 Jeep Cherokee (not "Grand"), the dog goes to the park in it and I use it for daily chores. My Dodge Nitro is newer and less used, kept in the garage unless I'm taking it somewhere. They both suit me just fine. Hubby has a Dodge Ram Diesel '92 3/4 ton, 4WD, that we use for camping trips, I rarely drive that. Here's the Nitro in front of an old calaboose.

Our 2005 Dodge Durango SLT pulls our boat much better than our older pickup does. Love our Durango and it has an outstanding stereo system in it........can really "kick up" the sound of Classic Rock songs. Oh yea, it also has a built-in DVD Player.

Depends on what day it is. It`s a 2004 Chevy Tahoe aka Gashog. I have driven nothing but Suburbans and Tahoes since 1979-this one is #6. Oh wait,I did have a Dodge Caravan for a few years when I couldn`t find a Suburban and needed a car now. I actually like that OK too. When we "retired" and I started doing property inspetions,we bought my SIL`s Chevy Malibu as it was more economical. Drove that for 3 years and the Tahoe mostly just sat. Sold the Malibu to our mechanic for cheap when I quit doing inspections as it had a big repair needed. Sooo, when we have foster kids in the house, the Tahoe is great and much neded. But when we don`t (as is the case at the moment) it is terribly unsuited and wasteful for me to drive. But,I rarely go far,so at least there`s that....

In 2008 the Chevy Malibu was Motor Trends car of the year. I bought one with all the goodies. I still have yet to turn 32K on it though it's been to and from South Dakota a couple of times from here in Arizona. On those trips I got over 30 mpg. I take good care of it and it may be my last car. I paid cash when I bought it so never has a car payment on it. When I was young i changed card like underwear. No more...

I drive a cherry coloured Ford Fiesta Zetec[ the last car was the same but in pale blue.] Great cars [of the small car type, ]practical, and very comfortable and great mileage from the petrol.

My wife's car is a 2002 Ford Explorer we bought new when it first came out in 2001. It has less than 70,000 miles. I drive a 2003 Ford F150 bought used in 2006. It has less than 90,000 miles. It gets driven a lot more often. Love them both.

My 1997 Ford F-150. Couldn't live without a pickup. Too much junk to haul around. And it's old
enough I don't get upset about dings and scratches anymore. :)

We have a 2003 Citroen Xsara Picasso. Tons of room in it for trips to IKEA, DIY, luggage and visitors etc. I prefer driving a smaller car but hate to give up the roominess. When we lived in Uganda for two years we gave the car to stepdaughter to drive. Still only has less than 80,000 miles on it. We take advantage of the free buses so the car sits in the driveway a lot. And on these long trips we take it sits in the garage.

I have an '08 GMC Envoy Denali and my wife just bought a new Equinox after trading in her Lexus. Both vehicles suit us. I will be trading the Envoy next year, but undecided what I will be buying. Maybe a new GMC Terrain.

I drive a Ford F150 4X4 with a 5.7 Triton V8...It is a 2003 and I have 190,000 kms on it.. I used to haul a 6000 pound camping trailer but we just sold our camper so all I have now is my Bass Boat that I will be selling this spring (if it ever comes)..
I just (this past week) purchased a 2nd car from a friend of ours that we will be picking up in mid February.. It is a 2012 Chevrolet Sonic hatchback (with only 9000 kms) which is so small it might fit into my pickup.. Although small, I can get into it very easy and it is surprisingly roomy.. Talk about economy compared to the F 150..
Winters up here (Northern Ontario) call for a decent vehicle with traction so we will be keeping the Ford F 150.. I know it is a gas guzzler, but we feel very safe in it and it really doesn't cost us anything other than gas and regular maintenance.. Besides it doesn't have very many miles on it.. Perfect shape..
Both vehicles are fully paid for which is a good thing..

We have only owned one brand new car since 1964 and that is my wife's 2006 KIA Spectra.

This could be me...
