Dollar stores raising their prices again.

Dollar stores already raised their prices over the last few years from $1.00 to $1.25. Now many items are being raised to $1.50. If one sees a red sticker on/over where the price normally is the price is being increased. I've seen it as have others.

Food items about the only stuff left for a $1.25. They also have been shrinking package contents/weight. Food items like pretzels now down to 10 oz packages. Packages of chips down under 5 oz in many cases. Tooth paste probably the same.

Watch and check prices and contents ie weight/ounces etc. anywhere you shop.

Dollar stores were not necessarily the cheapest but wait for a sale at a higher priced supermarket one can probably beat their prices by alot.

Almost everything they sell is imported, so with tariffs up, we all knew prices would go up at some point.

Dollar Tree is still a huge bargain. I mainly buy ibuprofen there and pay 1,000% less than at Walmart....that's for a major brand like Motrin. Being real, I save over 50% compared to Walmart's store brand, and I save at least 60% on my B vitamin energy shots. If those prices go up as much as 30-40%, it's still a bargain.

Well personally I was not unhappy with dollar tree, while I was in Yakima. As I was buying for the store that we had in the basement. It was a big surprise and many people were really thrilled that we would actually carry Folgers coffee. Of course we were pricing it at $6.50 a can but buying it at $5 a can.

The profits that we got from the store, were banked because at times we would get people moving in with no food and nothing else. So we would let them have $50-$85 for free purchase in other words they wouldn't have to pay for anything.

A lot of people came to depend on that little store, and they were surprised that we actually were getting in stuff that was what they actually wanted. Kind of paid off listening to them.

"Dollar Store" is misleading. I went to buy a flowerpot a few weeks ago and they didn't have anything under $8! To be fair, they were a little fancier that I wanted - heavy thick ceramic. I just wanted some simple plastic pots - like plants come in at a garden center.

I’m not sure what they would have to offer if they stick to the $1.00 price cap.

I usually start at the Dollar Tree when I need some small kitchen item, greeting cards, gift bags, etc…

Some of the food items are a still a good value for me.

I can’t really fault them for adjusting their pricing anymore than the rest of the companies that I do business with.

There is a Dollar Store attached to the local grocery store I go to and they balance themselves out. However the dollar store has become dingy and dirty (floors haven't seen a mop in months) with blocked isles. It used to be very clean, organized and well stocked. I only in now for cleaning and hygiene supplies with are still cheaper than anywhere else.

Oh boo hoo hoo! Dollar stores are still way cheaper than regular stores. Other stores raise their prices, nothing. When it's a dollar store, all hell breaks loose. The you know what hits the fan! Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Family Dollar, all have items including food, that I find to be cheaper than bigger stores. I stop by a dollar store anywhere between 2 to 4 times a week. When I go to Walmart, I stop by the local Dollar Tree. There used to be a store called Yankee Dollar, but the owner retired.

If the dollar stores eventually raise prices to $2, oh well. I almost guarantee that all of the other stores will have raised their prices also, and a lot more.

I stopped buying Fritos in regular stores because they got too expensive. I found El Sabroso brand corn chips at Dollar Tree, $1.25 for a 5 ounce bag - just as good as Fritos, and they sell a 9 ounce bag of Brim's Cheese Puffs for $1.25.

As inflation moves along, we may see stores like Dollar Tree, fueling the price gouging giants even more. A Family Dollar opened in my town 3 years ago and closed in just over a year.

My gripes are that the local so-called "dollar" store is dingy, not well stocked, selling foods beyond expiration dates and the shelf pricing tags don't often match what the item rings up at the cash register.
Same with the family dollar in my area. Dirty floors, stuff everywhere, food just thrown in coolers. Items on shelves mixed together, some with prices, some not. It's getting worse and I'm going in less and less. It used to be very clean and organized.

Dollar stores are very clean in my area. The floors are cleaned regularly. The products are neat and well organized. I wouldn’t want to shop in a store that’s not well cared for.

I've got 3 Dollar stores within a mile from me, so they're convenient. In addition to the aluminum pans I pick up, I also stop in for their 6 packs of water....they're so much easier for me to carry than those 24-32 packs at the grocery stores.
