Domestic Abuse

My partner works for a non-profit organization that exists to aid victims of domestic abuse. Their case workers provide vouchers that allow them to shop in the store for various clothing and household items. He has met many of these survivors, and they are typically very timid and very grateful. They leave their homes with nothing, many with children. He feels very fulfilled each day when he goes into work.

I've seen that domestic abuse became an epidemic during Covid, since so many families were "locked up" together. This seems to be a much bigger issue more than we all realize. I don't expect anyone to come forward with stories, but I just want everyone to be aware and empathetic.

Domestic violence abuse has always been an epidemic but has been hidden by the victims as well as the abusive ones. It's not their fault they hide it but there are so many reasons it is hidden. Some don't want their families to know for one thing. It often takes the victims getting some kind of outside help like a therapist to work to be able to stop it and and or leave.
