Don't miss me if I'm gone (for a while)

My computer is making strange whirring noises - perhaps the fan is going out? The laptop is 4 or 5 years old, so who knows if or when it will fail.
In a way it's kind of nice knowing I will outlive another poorly made machine.

The whirring noises went away automagically (for now), hopefully just a dusty fan. I have also been powering off the laptop when not in use, so maybe it just doesn't get as hot.

Might be a good idea to make sure you have copies of anything important stored elsewhere, Mr. Gardenblover. Could be a fan (more likely is), but depending on the type of storage it has, it could be the hard disc, which would be catastrophic (if repairable).
