Dr Phil calling it quits....

Been a long time since I watched some of his shows, usually a woman being scammed by a catfish, or a petulant son or daughter fighting with their parents. Haven't seen him lately, healthy for many of us to retire.

What scandals? I am confuse

I am not sure if there were scandals in his personal life, as much as in lives of people on his show...with their lives, I know, most controversial was the appearance of a guy named Todd, who had been on Survivor and after was battling drugs and alcohol. Apparently, Todd was trying to do better, but claimed afterward that show runners gave him alcohol before his appearance. It was felt Phil exploited Todd.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion…..
This is mine.
I have followed Dr. Phil for most of his television career…..I’m not an addict….just have always enjoyed him.
At times I will check out his podcasts.

As far as rumours……everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

As far as health…..I have seen physical changes in him, as I’m sure many of you have.

I have a great deal of respect for him.

Good riddence! I could never stand the site of him. Just another American TV "know it all" that racks in the big bucks from guillable women. Shame on him. Apparently, he started with Opry and of course, got his own TV show. Oh I know, many are those that worshiped him as god but he never did "turn my crank." Guess, I'm just too old and have traveled too many miles in life to have him "pull the wool over my eyes."

Anyway, the "good kindly doctor" wouldn't have me on his show as I'm not crazy and I don't really have any problems. Like I don't hate my mother nor do I want to kill my cat.

OMG, that is horrible.

When he first became Dr. Phil, at Oprah Winfrey's urging, he was more humble and honestly wanted to give good advice.
Decades and millions of dollars later, it has all gone to his head, he encourages the truly troubled exhibitionists to appear on his show.
His wife jumped on the bandwagon years ago also.
I lost respect for a man who had a good thing going, helping real people with real problems, and instead now resorts to exploiting those who truly need extensive therapy and answers.

Lying and blaming others for all their predicaments is what addicts do.

If I remember correctly his license to practice was removed by the body that licenses such professionals. It didn't stop him still using the title "Doctor :. JimB.

Dr Phil was an executive producer on the TV show, Bull. It was loosely based on him when he started out as a trial scientist.

Phillip Calvin McGraw (born September 1, 1950), better known as Dr. Phil, is an American television personality and author best known for hosting the talk show Dr. Phil. He holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, though he ceased renewing his license to practice psychology in 2006.

In other words, he gave up his license, it was not removed.
Sometimes a legal representative will suggest voluntarily giving up his license instead of having it removed to save his reputation.
Then, he can say "I retired."
