Droning on.

Reports of airliner near misses, privacy invasions, endangering traffic etc. makes the drone, the personal small inexpensive drone, an increasingly potential hazard. It's past time they are severely controlled. I predict a serious event soon caused by a reckless operator.
Then there's the potential for use as a terrorist weapon in bringing about a major accident.

These things can be deadly weapons.

The FAA will soon announce rigid regulations for drone operation. Those regulations will seem like overreach. However, if the regulations are minimal and an accident does happen, the FAA will be faulted for not taking more control. They would rather err on the side of being too rigorous than too lax.
With the incoming legislators, I really fear that Congress will make every attempt to minimize any regulations the FAA attempts to impose on the commercial/private use of drones. Current political partisanship has seen what will be the majority of Congress trying to see less regulation. When it comes to the safety of the hundreds of thousands of airline passengers, politics should not be the priority. Sadly, that won't be the case.

Yes, laser abuses are bad enough. Seems like the gun, any tech. advance is soon turned to mischief or worse.
