I felt like I was coming down with something on Friday, 9-3. On Sunday, I had symptoms that reminded me of when I had Sepsis 3 years ago after an incompetent root canal & was hospitalized for 8 days. I have an upcoming dental appointment in a couple of days to verify no infection in a couple of teeth I've been having pain in on & off. With my dental history, I didn't want to wait any longer & risk another hospital stay, so I went to the ER on Sunday.

I was expecting a long wait time & a crowd due to reports of the Delta Variant crowding hospitals. When I got there, the only procedural change was two separate lines at the entrance - one for patients & one for visitors & a guy letting one person in at a time. After my temperature was taken, I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen. I was asked if I was vaccinated & I said, "No." I was expecting "Why not," and "We can do it right now," but there was no reaction at all.
They hooked me up to monitors for 4 hours, took blood & urine, I got an IV with "Sodium Chloride" (I think) & I not only had a Covid blood test, a guy came in & did that nose-swab test, too. The end result was, "No Sepsis, everything normal, you may have something that's going around, or your mosquito bites may have caused a problem. Uncertain cause for weakness." I did chuckle at one doctor who was flirting with a nurse & his mask was around his neck.

The report I was given said, Both Covid tests, Influenza A B, NAAT Negative. Since I never heard of "NAAT," I looked it up:
What is a NAAT COVID-19 test?
A Nucleic Acid Amplification Test, or NAAT, is a type of viral diagnostic test for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. NAATs detect genetic material (nucleic acids).
I don't know if that's the nose swab or blood test.

NAAT is a nasal swab. A saline IV increases your fluids and electrolytes. You might have been a bit dehydrated.

Sorry to hear they couldn't identify something specific that could be readily treated and taken care of. I know medicine is more art than science, but I always hate getting those non-diagnoses ... sort of like "I can't figure out what's making you sick so you're on your own bub".

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Feel better. I always had the spit test for Covid-19 šŸ˜before procedures. Once you are vaccinated-they don’t test you-just saying

Good news on not having sepsis. I never had it, but the nurses in my family tell me it isn't fun as you have confirmed.
