Early Storm Outbreak

The US Nation had a small tornado outbreak today. Fortunately for me and mine it was way to the east and northeast of where I live. Unfortunately for those folks who were in the path of one of those home wreckers, I hope it missed you. I have been in one and had close encounters with others. I don’t recommend them. I’ve seen what they can do. You have, too.

It seems these storms are breaking out early this year. These storms usually strike first in the
Southeast, then the lower Midwest, and then the upper-Midwest. The last three or four years the area where I live has been hard hit. Not only hit hard by property damage, injuries and deaths, but also insurance is taking a blow.

I haven’t gotten a bill on my car insurance yet, but my house insurance went up eighty-five percent. I’m looking into what other companies are doing (or my agent is) but a number of insurance companies are pulling out of the state. They don’t want to write certain types of insurance in Oklahoma. Hail and property damage in the state has become too risky.

I hope this coming season is lesser rather than greater.

People often wonder how we can live with the threat of earthquakes in California but I've spent time in Tornado Alley and them buggers are terrifying.
