Easter Candy

I was in Family Dollar today and looked at the Easter candy they had. Lots of chocolate bunnies, not much else.

My great granddaughter loves her chocolate so of course her Gigi will be getting her an Easter basket with chocolate. She also adores these stuffed things called Squishmallows so she is getting them as well.

I sent my two g-nieces some Squishmallows.

Got me some Cadbury creme eggs and peeps. Also got some chocolate Easter bunnies for the "grands".

We always had specialty holiday-themed candy when I was a kid.

It seems like the trend today is towards mass-market fun-sized candy in holiday wrappers.

The thing that I noticed this year was the reduced variety and selection of blooming plants in the stores.

The events of the last two years seem to have taken away the all-American feel of prosperity and abundance that we grew up with.

The holidays may look and feel a little different than they did when we were kids, but they continue to arrive on schedule.

I love peeps, but I like to open the package and sit it on top of the fridge for a few days to a couple of weeks.
