Easy Homemade Ant Bait That Worked For Me.

Western Exposure
Some weeks ago our kitchen got invaded by what I've learned to call, grease ants. Small black ants coming up from each side of the stove and spreading out everywhere. I couldn't find where they were coming in from outside the house. And I don't like using bug spray anywhere inside our house.

So I did some research and found out about this homemade concoction. So I tried it, and it worked for me. Maybe many of you already know about this, but it was new to me.

All you need to do is mix some Borax into some hot water, along with some honey. (I didn't have any honey so I just used some sugar.)
I placed one small cap-full on each side of my stove. After some time the ants were mostly just going for the bait, and nowhere else.
I had to reload the bait traps for time to time. And after a little over a week, they were gone. That was five days ago, so far so good, no ants.

So I thought I would share this. Hopefully it will help someone, ants are no fun..
Here's the YouTube video about it.

I've had mini-invasions twice this spring, but my black ants are closer to 1/2 inch in size and very hard to squish! I'm heading for the borax and honey now! Thanks!
Update - They haven't flocked into it, but I swept one off my counter into the mix and it died almost instantly - That's something, considering that I most often try drowning them when they find a dish in the sink and find it almost impossible!

My black ants don't march in line like little brown 'sugar'ants - they are usually widely dispersed and in packs of about 7 at the most - and they are FAST!

I also found some in the shed today... so, tomorrow, they are getting this treat!

It took them a while (A day or two.) before they really got into my bait traps. I hope it works for you and keep an eye on your bait. Them little buggers can really drain it down fast once they get going on it. Good Luck .. :)
