Ecuador violated Mexico’s sovereignty by raiding embassy

When Ecuador sent its police onto the grounds of the Mexican embassy it violated a very old international law that makes embassy grounds sovereign territory of each country.

Another of the guardrails that keep civilization safe is threatened. I hope the world takes this seriously.

Even though it was an Ecuadoran citizen and ex VP of country that is one of the lines that should not be crossed. Don't know how well planned that raid was or someone got a hot tip and acted on it but even in Ecuador a police or military officer should know embassies are sovereign territory.

Will say it's probably not just in the US or Europe that a lot of older customs and practices are probably not taught or prioritized they way they used too.
