Egg casserole not as popular as my pistachio cake

I make sort of a deluxe omelet style casserole to bring the the church Easter breakfast. I'll be eating it the rest of the week. I felt sorry for the people that brought a potato casserole, quiche and noodle dishes, not much of those was taken, either. The only thing that seemed to go well were the sweets like danish, donuts, muffins.

I was specifically asked to bring an egg casserole by the event coordinator. This wasn't an after-service luncheon, it was breakfast that started at 8:30am. This is the recipe:

6 - 8 eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
1 cup ham, diced
1 cup shredded cheese (I used extra sharp cheddar)
1 cup diced bell peppers (I used red and green and also added some onion)
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
2 Tbsp melted butter
1/2 cup baking mix (a.k.a. Bisquick)

Preheat oven to 350 and grease a 9 x 12 inch baking dish.
Mix everything together well and pour into prepared baking dish.
Bake for 35 - 45 minutes. About 10 minutes before it's done, sprinkle more shredded cheese on top and return to oven.

I posted it on Facebook and someone commented that they wouldn't have taken any, either. It looked like barf in a bowl. Always supportive people online. ;)
Oh for pat's sake! The nerve of some. Well I think it looks good, Deb. (That pistachio cake sounds good too...now I'm hungry again, sigh  :ROFLMAO:.)

Anytime I was asked to bring anything for a potluck at work or the seniors centre, I would bring casseroles and/or cooked food that would be picked at, then sat there for hours as people did not want any more. And it wasn't just my cooked food, others as well. And once my cooked food has sat in the open for hours, I then dispose of it. I am very fussy as I don't want to get sick from something that has spoiled. Nowadays, I bring Brie or Camembert cheese and crackers. Nothing is left of the cheese ever, and crackers I can take home if left over.
