Eggs down to $2.50 a dozen in US

that's good news. They tend not to sell in Dozens here.. instead it's 6 or most often 10.... but occasionally 15.. I have no idea why lol

Today I bought eggs because again there's another report of Bird flu ..so there maybe a shortage again soon...

I just got normal medium eggs.. pack of 12... £3.15p... I really wanted Duck eggs which are about 50 % more costly than hens eggs but they didn't have any...

£3.15 = $4.27 US.... for a doz medium eggs

"In June 2025, the price of eggs in Florida is expected to be around $3.90 per dozen in the second quarter. This price is lower than the peak of $6.55 in March 2025. The USDA predicts egg prices will decrease to $2.90 per dozen in the third quarter."
This is the recent information I could find for Florida.
We buy egg beaters in a quart. It used to be $5.23, today it is $8.95. I hope those prices will come down as well!

There are a lot of big chicken farms in our area. For months, it was rare to see a truckload of chickens heading for a nearby processing plant. However in the past month, those trucks are on the roads again, so the chicken farms seem to be recovering. A short stop at the local grocery store today showed the price of a dozen eggs at $2.80....a lot lower than the $6/dozen we saw a few months ago.

I guess it depends on how healthy your local chickens are where you live. In N.East Pennsylvania, there hasn't been a shortage. And the price does fluctuate, but nothing like other areas. I bought 12 'extra large' eggs for $2.57.
There was only one time, when a TV news report ran a story about the egg shortage and the next day hoarders bought out the entire egg case.
