Elizabeth Cotton was unique in that she played a right handed guitar, upside down and left handed. She never used a left handed guitar and developed her own style that is hard to copy because bass notes normally played with the thumb, she played with her fingers and the treble strings with her thumb. She developed her own way of playing arpeggios.
