What a rip off.Elton John is coming to Cardiff next June on his farewell tour.Thought I would go and see him.Cheapest tickets-miles from the stage-£249.No way am I paying that.
I have five concerts between now and Christmas and I haven't paid more than £50 for any of them!

I wouldn't pay a penny to see him... not now!! Back in the 70''s when he wasn't so full of himself, but not now!!

He's so rich, he gave an interview a while back and he said he spends £1500 every week just on cut flowers for inside his home... so clearly his fans are paying for that

omg what ---- disgusting amount of money to pay ' and he isnt that good now either ; why would he want to charge tht when he is loaded... total
greed i say ' people should not encourage it ...........

Looks like it. Ringo Starr and his band is charging hundreds for a seat.
The cheapest seat is $125.00 I once saw him for $35. many years ago at a small venue.
I like his music but not that much. It is greed but fans will pay it.

The Rolling Stones appeared here about twelve years ago. I wanted to go but I think the tickets were over $125.00 each. I did cruise over to the stadium and watched them set up. I don't know what their crew members make but there were semi trucks loaded with stage equipment, lighting, special effects etc that all had to be assembled. Amps had to be installed along with microphones and it took them quite a while to get it done. So, I suppose the ticket price isn't so bad if the group is paying a large crew.

I don't know about Elton John, he probably pays for people to haul around his piano and wardrobe. I guess I wouldn't be quite so upset about ticket prices if I knew the entertainer was paying his crew a decent wage. Sometimes I just weigh the options. I can do a lot of other things with $125.00. I think the Stones concert here was sold out, over 30,000 people which is way too many for me anyway. The Elton John ticket price seems way to high.

I enjoyed many concerts in my youth when it cost $3.99 to see Johnny Cash & several other performers. I never go to concerts anymore because I can not stand all those idiots sticking their "stupid phones" up in the air trying to record the show. I rather stay home & watch DVD movies.

And these performers are has beens. Not even performing in their stardom or peak.
But their audiences are older like us and they take advantage or exploit our affluence and nostalgia.
Rip off is too strong--exploitation maybe. Their agents are behind this of course. Iam not an Elton John fan.

Cannot
compare it to the old days, really, when in 1970 I saw the Stones AND BB King on the
same stage for $8.00 a ticket at a university. Good seat too.
The prices will still rise, I think, regardless of the star.
