Email from Walmart, Congratulations...

On line at some websites, I occasionally get flashy, pop-up ads declaring me the millionth customer and winner of an iPad, TV set, vacation, or whatever. I need only click on their button to claim it, and such ads can be difficult to get around. Romance scammers from places like Russia would also really like to get to meet me. There are phone calls and e-mails telling me that my antivirus has been automatically renewed at an absurd fee, or my extended car warranty (which I don’t have) has run out; call them immediately! The spamming and scamming is almost relentless, and government intervention is desperately needed.

Our Government says it can do nothing to stop these scams.
Even registering for Do not Call no longer works.

This past Friday, I got a call from my Discover card person. She asked me if I was buying a 75" QLED TV down in Florida for $3,800.00 Also a Sony soundbar.

I told her I'd never been to Fl. & I didn't buy that stuff. She said, ok, we're just making sure & we'll speak to the store to hold that person till the police arrive.

I love my Discover card this is about the 10th time someone has tried to use my account. I have NO idea how they got my numbers & pin but the lady says they just have a computer that runs a program to find a number that matches with pin numbers.
Dang scammers are getting smarter & smarter.

Scammers don't deserve to live. Apparently, they target new immigrants and us "old timers." If you are an "old timer" you better keep your wits about you. That is my friendly advice for today.

I've made some big purchases with my Discover card, and they stopped the sale, and called me about it. Getting a little annoyed by them putting a temporary hold is a lot better than trying to get a few thousand dollar erroneous charge off your card. I like the Discover Card.
