Email You Didn't Subscribe To

Do you get email in your inbox that has nothing to do with your life or life style and you never signed up for? I sometimes do. What gets me is that to unsubscribe to it I have to fill out my email address at their site and answer some dumb questions just to be unsubscribed. I never even asked for these. The last one I got was about my house's heating system. I don't own a home--I rent.

At times I have replied back to their emails complaining to them but then I get an email saying that this email address is not monitored--well it's a wonder why!

Sometimes! My email is stuffed full of the junk, so is my spam folder. Yes I have filters active, doesn't matter. I've unsubscribed, that works only for a little while. I've been getting the same junk since 1999 and don't bother with email anymore.

Yes it can be a real PITA.

The junk email we all get is similar to the junk "snail mail" that accumulates in our mailboxes. I'm lucky if there's one piece of paper mail a week that I actually want. The email is ridiculous. I keep getting emails asking me to buy an extended warranty on a truck that my husband sold in 2012. It seems to me that if I glance at a website, they somehow find my email address and inundate me with junk. My neighbor asked me to see if Target had an item she wanted, as soon as I looked at their website the emails began. Every once in a while I have a tantrum and unsubscribe to a bunch of stuff, but usually I just delete it all.

The worse thing you can do is "Unsubscribe" doing this just verifies you are receiving emails! from the spammer, I use the Mailwasher program, which gives me the option to Bounce the emails or block the domain they come from, all this happens before they come to your email program, so in reality, never get them.

I'm a guy. I'm quite happy to say I have never gotten an enlargement email. :) But I get tons of spam. Like Judycat, I really don't use email anymore. It's so cluttered with spam. You have to hunt down through pages of ads to find the one email you want. And my superduper anti spam app is useless.

Now that I read all the replies I think next time I get these unwanted emails I'm going to block them or mark them as spam. Thanks for those suggestions.
