Employees getting little support for safe work conditions during pandemic.

I never really thought about it, then again our laws here in Australia are different from your ones.
But it is an interesting topic.
I guess the whole case would be based on the person proving that contracted it at the work place.

We have a cluster of nurses at work who are either out with Covid or on Modified quarantine which means they can work. They said if you get it from a cluster that could count.

it's not just the safety equipment Marg. it's the conditions themselves. we are not ALL masked and we are subjected to working with people who are coming to work sick without being tested and they're not masked and not sent home. we are being subjected to working with some who have been exposed and they expect them to isolate at work and ppe up but that's not happening. they're not distancing and sanitizing the way they should either. if we get it i think we could sue for negligence. i'm pondering it.

Marci. Are there no supervisors or upper management in charge of/addressing/overseeing this?

There is a lot of outright nonsense going on overall. I listened to a CBC Radio report the other morning that spoke of workers (Covid related) putting in 12 hour days, for 41 or 45 days straight, with no days off, with many more workers being subjected to 24 hour shifts, which IMO, is totally unacceptable, regardless of staff shortages.
