English lessons, must try harder:

I remember the three times I visited London in the 1980's, I enjoyed reading street signs, because they were worded differently than they would be worded in the U.S. Also signs in buildings. I remember seeing signs that said, "No Way Out", instead of "Not an Exit". Or "Way Out", instead of "Exit". Over here, if a road just ends at a certain spot, when you turn into the road there is a sign that reads "Dead End". In London, I would see a sign that would say, "No Through Road", or maybe it was, "No Through Way".šŸ˜…

When P.T. Barnum opened his museum of curiosities, he found that people were staying too long and not making room for the newcomers. Leary of making people mad by herding them out, he had a great idea. He had a big sign that said "TO THE EGRESS" that pointed to a door.

Well, of course, everyone was eager to see the Egress, whatever the hell that was going to be, so they pushed through the door. They then found themself outside in the alley with no way to get back in. He wasn't lying......that was the door to the egress.
