Entire Band Gets COVID...They Had All Been Vaccinated

I was just speaking to a very good friend of mine. A very good friend of hers "J", who plays in a band called and told her he started feeling sick during a gig. In fact, the whole band was feeling sick. Having had open heart surgery not that long ago he had gotten vaccinated to play it safe. He also took other precautions to protect himself due to his health issue, including wearing a mask. Allegedly all of the band members had been vaccinated as well. As soon after the gig as he could "J" went first to get tested and was positive. The rest of the band members followed suit and sure enough they were positive too. Prior to the gig the band was in the studio backing up a singer who was in the tri-state area but is from the west coast. They feel they got infected while in the studio.

What variety of the virus was it? What type of mask was he wearing? More information would be helpful. 😁

I wondered the same things but can only tell you what my friend relayed to me. She's usually very thorough when it comes to asking questions. I tease her that she'd make a great investigator. But she may have only had a limited time to speak with her friend.

I am really curious about what mask he had on. “They” are saying with Delta (?) you need an NK95 masks not just the regular blue 3 layer ones we have been wearing. I put the NK95 (I think that’s the name) on when I go into a crowded place. I also have the actual medical N95 masks.

But it is definitely harder to breathe with either one of those on.
