Not quite sure what to think about this but an entire graduating class from a USC Fine Arts program withdrew in protest leaving no graduating class for 2016.

Grievances include administrative and faculty changes. Also less chance of a job at that school or program. Many students felt their program was shafted in the budget with money going to other programs.

Ummm, let me see. This almost sounds like a pyramid scheme-pay money, obtain impractical degree, get job teaching that same degree.

All seven of them, no less. That should cause a tidal wave of indignation that will bring the university system to their knees.....snort. California....

My sister's boyfriend in college was getting a MFA in Folklore with a specialty in horror films. That degree and a continuing handout from his rich parents would have set him up just fine.

This reminds of some people I know with drug and alcohol problems and recently had to go through a dui "course" as part of their sentence. They've given up trying to work for others or taking an entry level job and are waiting for 5 years without a dui so they can get a job teaching or staffing the same course/punishment they went through. See that dui was worth it after all. They even haven't given up drinking yet.

But it's the same mentality. The world will and must find a place for them that is precisely to their liking.
