What on earth could possess someone to kill not only their wife but also their child? I cannot imagine what happened in this lovely family and how frightened the wife and child were. I cannot bear the thought of that seven year old child in a coffin.
Time will reveal the motive. I just feel utter shock and sadness. They look such a wonderful family in the photo, in the prime of life with apparently excellent careers. It just shows how we never know what is going on behind closed doors.

Horrible, horrible story. But I have to say that even more upsetting than the initial crime is the fact that cowards like this turn the gun on themselves before having to pay for their crime by letting harsh justice be served. :mad::mad: If you're so miserable that you don't want to live, go do it off by yourself somewhere... don't take the innocent family with you. I'll hush now before I get too riled up.
 
Indeed, killing a child is appalling. I feel so sorry for the police, ambulance, I undertakers - all the brave excellent professional people who have to deal with it. How they do it I cannot imagine.

As for why, the mind is a whole deep labyrinth that is so unpredictable. None of us can tell what goes on in the heads of people who may look and behave normally.

The husband had a licensed gun, at home. I think if that is allowed for sports, nobody should be allowed to take it home. Maybe I am a simple soul buti couldn't even touch a gun.
 

Well apparently a little while back the husband had cause to call the police on his wife after she attacked him. There have never been any complaints to the Police about the husband .. so God alone knows what was going on inside that house.. 2 middle class upstanding ( supposedly) members of the community.....always shocking when someone takes the life of an innocent child.. but it happens all too often..

Usually it's one partner who wants to leave and take the child with them, and the other partner is detrmined no-one else will be allowed to have them. Whether that was the case here we'll likely never know..

We have court TV also... but it's the US version. As it stands currently Cameras are rarely allowed into UK courts...
