Europe is a country??

Last night on the 5 pm news the secretary of defense mentioned that Europe is a sovereign country---nobody caught that?
I couldn't believe it.
 

Wonder if he is one who thinks the US state of New Mexico is part of the country of Mexico???

I live in New Mexico, and we get that a lot. Once at my job here, I was told on the phone by someone in New York that they couldn't do things for foreign lawyers and we would have to hire an American law firm to handle the matter for us. When I lived back east for a while, I got complimented a few times on my English and the fact that I had no Mexican accent.

He's just a bit premature.

This is, of course, the ultimate objective a federation, or union, just like yours.

That's why we want out.

I was, originally, a full federalist wanting to see a USE, but having an open mind I changed it and vored "Leave" despite the severe economic consequences.
 
Sometimes I have trouble understanding General Mattis when he speaks, this is what he actually said about Europe. "We do not, and we will not, accept Russia's seizure of Crimea and despite Russia's denials, we know they are seeking to redraw international borders by force, undermining the sovereign and free nations of Europe."
 
Many years ago a young ticket clerk at the Orlando airport asked me if I had my passport. Why would I need my passport? Well, you're going to Hawaii. I pointed out that Hawaii was a U.S. state. "Oh, that's right!" she giggled.

A New Mexico tourism official recalled telling someone at a party that she was from New Mexico. "Oh, I've been to Mexico!" exclaimed the other person. "No, NEW Mexico..." she said. "Oh, yeah, I've been to new Mexico, too....y'know Cancun and Acapulco...." he said.
