Here in Sweden we're in the final stages of our "Song for Europe" competition where we will choose our candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest. Do you enjoy this event or do you like me break out in a rash?

LOL...I haven't watched it since ABBA won... well probably closer than that...but it's such a Bore.. and everybody hates the UK, not quite as bad as they hate ''Nil Points..Norway''..... but we always end up near the bottom with our rubbish renditions... :ROFLMAO:

Yes.....I have a long running thread about it in another place....
the real question is if Britain will get any points this year.
And it brought ABBA to everyone’s attention( I already knew about them!)

The only time that I have ever seen the Eurovision Song Contest, was in 1961. The winner was Jean-Claude Pascal, singing "Nous les amoureux." The UK came second with "Are You Sure," sung by The Allisons.
The reason that I saw it was because I was in hospital recovering from a traffic collision. Back then, hospitals didn't have televisions, this one had been brought in specially for the contest. (They need not have bothered.)
I still think that we have a song winner in our midst. Dana won in 1970 with "All Kinds of Everything." Dana started a thread recently, titled: "All Kinds of Everything."

In1973 ABBA who at that time went under the name Björn och Benny, Agnetha och Frida had an entry in Sweden called Ring Ring but didn’t win. The year after they came back with Waterloo and the rest as they say is history
