Even pharmacists are getting burnt out

DGD is a pharmacy tech. Last Sunday at another pharmacy where they were buried in unfilled prescriptions and where customers were lined up for the vaccine, some techs were sent TDY to help. It took them a whole day just to catch up enough for a clear start the next day. Yesterday the pharmacist from that store just threw his hands up and said he couldn't take it anymore and quit. Just walked out the door. Wow. Just wow!

Also yesterday, the pharmacy started allowing drive-up testing and vaccines again. According to DGD, cars were lined up clear around the store. She administered 27 vaccines and heaven only knows how many test kits she passed out to drive-up customers, waited while they swabbed, reported. Meanwhile, customers who were there to pick up prescriptions? They parked and went inside to get them because the wait in line was just too much.

Pharmacists make $11.50/hr? Um. Not even close! They are salaried, and depending on experience, make $100,000/year and up. This after spending five years in college. Pharmacy techs? $15/hr starting pay.
