Ever had close friends die unexpectedly?

My best friend in my teenage years, my fishing buddy, Mark, drowned one night getting onto his fathers boat, The Black Witch. Somehow he fell into the water and drowned.
We went fishing all the time, every weekend, we were very good friends.
He was 15.
My friend, Peter, was murdered by a mentally deficient(so it was claimed) backpacker who dumped his body in the sand dunes at Ocean Beach on the West Coast of Tasmania.
He was 14.
My good friend and neighbour, Andrew, shot himself dead at his home. He showed no signs of distress beforehand.
He was 16.
My friend, Jeannie, who played Snow White in the school play, and kissed me, Bashful, died as a pillion passenger on a motorbike 12 months after leaving school.
She was 17.

To many over the years.
Too right. Too many.

I lost a close friend a few months ago. He was a bright, happy, healthy 68 year old and was almost never sick. He got to feeling something maybe wasn't quite right on a Friday. Told his wife if he wasn't feeling better by Monday he'd go see the doctor. He died on Sunday of a blood clot in his lungs. 😢

"Tomorrow" isn't guaranteed to anyone.

About December 2014, just emailed my best friend Deborah, made plans to have our before Christmas lunch in Vancouver at some nice restaurant. I thought she was phoning me a couple of days later but it turned out it was the fellow she was living with. He told that he had come home from the store, found her in the armchair and could not wake her. She had had a heart attack. I kept telling him but, that can't be, we are supposed to have lunch together the following week. Was a shock, she was only 60 years old. And the same year, my mom passed away in March( stomach cancer and was dead 3 weeks later) and we lost one of our kitties as well. Not a good year.

Yes that was a bad year. People in our lives sadly pass away.
